The Shadowscrapers team has been through a lot this semester– a lot of art styles, a lot of bugs, even a name change. The game survived a one month prototype phase where more than half of the games being developed were cut. The team went from six people to thirteen after the other prototypes were cut. The game started as a full 3D first-person puzzle game and evolved into an isometric puzzle game for mobile.
We made it to the end of the semester and the long awaited demo day, where EAE students set up the games they have been working on in an event open to the public. It’s a busy day and one of the best days to get feedback for the undergrad games. The EAE Play event marks the halfway point of the senior undergrad projects. We designed a short survey to ask players once they completed our short demo, asking for improvements, frustrations, and what (if anything) they would pay for a complete puzzle game on an app marketplace such as the App Store or Google Play.
